I think I saw you filming this (nearly hit you pushing up the track) or was it someone else? 
i dont know about america but in scotland the time actually starts when you cross the gate/laser beam thing and you have 5 seconds that you hav to start within so i dont think he cheated unless the timing is different 
not hitting any trees this time :)
